The CBSE Class 10 Social Science Question paper is of 80 Marks and has four major units.
The first unit is Events and Processes which is divided into three sections. First section educates students on the rise of nationalism in Europe and Nationalism in India. Second Section covers Livelihood, Economies and Societies. The section covers the period before the industrialization and the early factory system. It also covers various aspects of globalisation and its impact on local economies. Third section deals with ideas and print as the medium to communicate these ideas. The print culture, and its impact on India and outside India.
The second unit is Contemporary India. It deals with various land and soil resources along with their development, Importance of Forests and Wildlife and appreciation of the depletion of these resources, water as a resource and its conservation, agriculture and its importance in Indian economy, minerals and energy resources and their availability, importance of industry in the Indian economy and its planned development, Modes of commute for living beings and non-living beings and role of trade and tourism in the development of the country.
The third unit deals with power sharing structure, federalism and its Indian context and Democracy. It covers the impact of gender, caste and religion on Politics. Also focus is giving on popular struggles and their impact on democracy.
The fourth unit deals with development of economy in India.
