  • Agriculture as primary sector: meaning and contribution of agriculture to employment, trade and making the nation self-sufficient for its food requirements. It also covers briefly on Green Revolution and Food security.

  • Industry as a secondary sector: The students gain knowledge on the meaning and types of industry, It also elaborates on the harmful impact of industrialisation and measures taken to reduce the negative impact of the same.

  • Tertiary Sector: It covers various sectors such as education, healthcare, banking, transportation, insurance, telecommunication, storage, warehousing etc and their role in the economic development of the country.

The fourth unit is Major Problems of Indian Economy. It makes ICSE Class 9 Economics students aware of the poverty, unemployment and also government policies which have been introduced to reduce the same.

Last unit is on Major Reforms and Emerging trends in the Indian Economy. The unit educates students on liberalisation, privatisation and globalisation. It also makes students aware on their necessity and their help in improving Indian economy.
