ISC Class 12 English has two Question papers:

English language Question Paper is of 100 marks and 3 hours duration English literature Question Paper is of 100 marks and 3 hours duration

Paper 1: English Language:

Question 1: Students will be given 6 options and he has to write a composition on one option. The length of the composition should be 400-450 words. The choices will include Descriptive, Narrative, argumentative, reflective, short story or a discussion topic. (25 Marks)

Question 2:
a) Directed writing (book review, article writing, film review, report writing, speech writing, statement of purpose, and personal profile) based on recommended points (20 Marks) b) Proposal writing on a given situation. It should include the heading, statement of objective and list of measures (10 marks)

Question 3: The students are tested on grammar, structure and usage through short answer questions (20 marks)

Question 4: The students are tested on a comprehension. They will be tested on vocabulary, understanding of the context and summarising. (25 Marks)

Paper 2: English Literature:

Students will be required to answer five questions. One question will be on Shakespeare play/ alternative play. Remaining four questions can be from any three texts including the play. The students are expected to select either the Shakespeare play or the Alternative play.
