Economics is a subject that involves production, distribution, and consumption of goods and services. Lionel Robbins (1932) gave the most commonly accepted definition of the subject, "Economics is a science which studies human behaviour as a relationship between ends and scarce means which have alternative uses".

It covers producers equilibrium and related concepts.
The course also makes students aware of perfect competition, other forms of market and simple applications of demand and supply.
